Protective and therapeutic effect of Zamzam water on alloxan induced hyperglycemic wistar rats

الملخص
The aim of this study was to investigate protective and therapeutic effect of Zamzam water on biochemical parameters, liver and kidney histological sections induce hyperglycemic Wistar rats. Rats were classified into five groups (G1 untreated control received tab water, G2 untreated control received Zamzam water, G3 positive control received tab water, G4 diabetic rats received Zamzam water before and after diabetes induction and G5 diabetic rats received tab water before diabetes induction and Zamzam water after diabetes induction and group) and treated for 60 days. Blood glucose level was measured before and after alloxan induced hyperglycemia. Rats were sacrificed, blood was collected, liver and kidney tissues were obtained. Blood glucose, ALT, AST, urea and creatinine were measured using glucometer and spectrophotometer method. CBC was estimated using full blood count analyzer. Sections of liver and kidney were stained using haematoxillin stain. Comparing to groups treated G4 and G5, The G4 and G5 showed significant decrease in mean blood glucose level after alloxan induce hyperglycemia. Moreover, blood urea and creatinine revealed significant increase in G4 and G5 in comparison to G3 with p value 0.010 and 0.030 respectively. Treatment with Zamzam water for 60 days significantly decrease blood glucose level in induce hyperglycemic Wistar rats, in contrast urea and creatinine are increased. Therefore Zamzam water possess potential protective and therapeutic effects in induce hyperglycemic Wistar rats.

- الخلاصةهدفت هذه الدراسة الى التحقق من التأثير الوقائي والعلاجي لماء زمزم على العلامات الكيموحيوية وقطع من انسجة الكبد والكلى لفئران Wistar ذات الإرتفاع المستحث في سكر الدم . قسمت الفئران الى خمس مجموعات ( G1 مجموعة تحكم غير مصابة بداء السكر تستعمل ماء الصنبور G2 مجموعة تحكم غير مصابة بداء السكر تستعمل ماء زمزم G3 مجموعة مصابة بداء السكر تستعمل ماء الصنبورG4 فئران مصابة بداء السكر تستعمل ماء زمزم قبل وبعد إصابتها بالداء G5 فئران مصابة بداء السكر تستعمل ماء الصنبور قبل إصابتها وماء زمزم بعد إصابتها بالداء) وعولجت لمدة 60 يوم. تم قياس سكر الدم قبل و بعد إصابتها بإرتفاع السكر في الدم بواسطة الألوكسان. ذبحت الفئران، قيس كل ALT، AST، اليوريا والكرياتنين بإستخدام Glucometer وطريقة المطياف الضوئي. قدر CBC باستخدام CBC analyzer. صبغت قطع من الكبد والكلى بصبغة heamotoxillin. بمقارنة G4 وG5 أظهرت نتائج G4و G5إنخفاض معنوي في سكر الدم بعد حقن الالوكسان. علاوة على ذلك، كشف قياس اليوريا والكرياتنين ل G4 و G5 إرتفاعاً معنوياً بالمقارنة مع G3 بقيمة p= (0.01 and 0.03) بالتتابع. يخفض العلاج بماء زمزم لمدة 60 يوم سكر الدم المرتفع لدى فئران Wistar إنخفاصاً معنويا,ً على عكس اليوريا والكرياتين فهما يرتفعان. وبذا نخلص أن لماء زمزم التأثير الوقائي والعلاجي على الإرتفاع في سكر الدم المستحث بالألوكسان.
