الملخص

This thesis focuses on studying the continuous development of airport facilitation conforming to aviation security requirements. It revolves around the importance of the adherence of airports in countries around the world to security standards in their various operations while keeping pace with technological and digital developments that have recently become a trend in airports. Facilitation and Security go hand in hand in many cases; the flow of passengers may be impacted by security measures, which passengers need to be subjected to at various points in their movement across the airport. As passenger facilitation cannot be achieved exclusively by airport operators, the author is focusing more on the thesis on other performers, such as passengers, air carriers, and aviation authorities. Aviation security requires a high level of collaboration and coordination among partners and stakeholders who are accountable for the different phases of the end-to-end passenger movement from the time of checking in to when the passengers arrive at their destination.1 The author analyses the challenges of preclearance, stranded passengers, security measures, baggage handling systems, and smart airport facilitation and introduces the advantages and difficulties of these procedures and innovations from a technical and legal viewpoint.
