- This work undertaken on the study of the zygotic of the date palm, is within the framework of the research project on knowledge, the characterization, the improvement and the of the plants of the arid regions. Zygotic is a key stage of the angiospermes life. It begins as of the double fertilization and it determines the general organization of the future plant. The objective of this work is to study the various stages of the development of the zygotic embryos of date palm at the morphological, and biochemical level, in order to overcome the problems posed by somatic , current technical of multiplication of the date palm. Moreover, the morphological modifications and the transformations of pollinated carpels and fertilized ovules occurred during this are apprehended. In the date palm, the fertilization of the central cell leads to the formation of an additional zygote which is at the origin of horny , while the fertilization of the leads to the formation of the zygote. The cell egg or zygote undergoes the first asymmetrical transverse division giving rise to a with two unequal cells. Then, a globular embryo results from successive divisions of the cells of the , after passing through an early globular stage. Beyond the globular stage, the mitotic activity increases supporting the initiation of the cotyledon. The mature zygotic embryo of the date palm consists of a proximale part in which is located the embryonic axis, and of a distal part corresponding to the pole. The embryonic axis consists of a shoot surrounded by two leaves , a root and connecting the two poles. During the phase of maturation, the zygotic embryo synthesizes and accumulates reserves. These constitute interesting markers for assessing the degree of maturity. Our study showed similarities between zygotic proteins of the embryos of the date palm and those of the other species belonging to the palm trees.
