The study sought to try to identify the reasons and factors behind the reluctance of some students in educational performance compared to their peers who managed to reach high scientific ranks. In addition to trying to identify some of the private and public matters that lie behind the phenomenon of academic weakness and scientific backwardness in the country. The study also dealt with scientific objectives, including knowing whether the social environment has an impact on education and whether the place of residence and the scientific and economic level of the family play a role in the scientific excellence of the children, in addition to the impact of co-education on this superiority or not, in addition to other goals.The study employs two theories that the researcher believes are related to the subject of the study, which is the theory of socialization and the theory of social disintegration. The family’s economic and social impact on the educational achievement of the children and the role of the companionship group in this regard. The study also dealt with student employment and its impact on them in their field of study. The last factor is co-education and its role in educational attainment.To achieve the goal of the study, the social survey method and the analysis method using the questionnaire were used to collect information and for the process of analyzing the questionnaire data, the researcher relied on a set of primary and general data for the research community of the study. An intentional sample of (294) males and females residing in the Hashemite district within the districts and villages of the district was selected. In order to obtain the field results, the researcher used the following statistical methods: frequencies, percentages, and arithmetic mean. The study came out with a set of results and recommendations, including:First, the results:The results of our study and previous studies related to academic excellence showed that there are social, economic, psychological and family problems related to the student's academic failure. In addition, education in rural schools has recorded better results than education of students in schools in the Hashemite District.Second / Recommendations cMany decisions and their activation and then canceling some of them. Therefore, the call is made to make education and education independent ministries subject to the instructions of the Council of Ministers. In addition to the need to work on a serious review of the educational process and curricula for the purpose of advancing the educational process, and that the change of curricula should be within a specific plan as was the case in the past.
