الملخص

فما يَنفكُّ سيبويهِ مَدارًا للدِّراساتِ اللّغويّةِ، شَغَلَ الأقدمينَ، وأغنى المُحدَثينَ، عَنِيَ بجَمعِ اللّغةِ، وتَفسيرِ مذاهِبِ العربِ في القولِ، فكانَ لا بدَّ له من مشافهةِ العربِ، والأخذِ عنهم، وأُوْلى طرائقِ الأخذِ السّماع، نقلًا أو روايةً. فاستمَعَ سيبويهِ إلى الفصحاءِ من العربِ، ممّن ارتضى عربيتَهم، فنَقَلَ، وإلى علماءِ عصرِهِ، ممّن خالطَ العربَ، فرَوَى. وبذلك حَفَلَ كتابُهُ بكثيرٍ من مواضعِ السّماع، ولم يكتفِ سيبويهِ بإيرادِها؛ بل ذيّلَ أغلبَها بمحاكمةِ السّماع وبيانِ وجهِ القبولِ والجوازِ فيها.بلغتْ مواضعُ السّماع (4204 موضعًا) في الكتابِ، أكثرُها في الأبنيةِ وما يطرأُ عليها بـ (3768 موضعًا)، وبـ (436 موضعًا) في غيرِها من أبوابِ النحو. ولا يجزمُ الباحثُ بقطعيّةِ هذهِ الأعدادِ، إذ الجهدُ الإنسانيُّ مُعرَّضٌ للفتورِ والضعفِ والسّهوِ، فقد تَزيدُ عمَّا ذُكِرَ أو تَقلُّ بقليلٍ، لكنّها بالتأكيدِ بقدرِ لا يُفسِدُ النتائجَ التي خُتِمَ بها البحثُ، ولا يَدحضُ علميّةَ البحثِ.

Sibawayh continued to be a center for linguistic studies. He occupied the ancients and enriched the hadith scholars. He was concerned with collecting the language and interpreting the Arabs’ doctrines of speech. He had to speak to the Arabs and learn from them, and the best way of learning was through hearing, through transmission or narration. So Sibawayh listened to the eloquent Arabs, who were satisfied with their Arabic, and he transmitted, and to the scholars of his time, who mixed with the Arabs, and he narrated. Thus, his book is full of many places to listen to, and Sibawayh was not satisfied with mentioning them; Rather, most of them are accompanied by a trial of hearing and an explanation of their acceptance and permissibility. The places of hearing reached (4204 places) in the book, the majority of which are in structures and what occurs with them (3768 places), and (436 places) in other chapters of grammar. The researcher cannot be sure of the certainty of these numbers, as human effort is subject to stagnation, weakness, and oversight. They may be more than what was mentioned or slightly less, but they are certainly an amount that does not spoil the results with which the research was concluded, nor does it refute the scientificity of the research.
