ترجمة الملخص

This study was conducted to analyze the status of the displaced women from Western Sudan who are involved in the marketing processes undertaking marginal jobs in Suke Aabuzaid and Suke Elnaga in Khartoum State. The study also aimed at studying the social, cultural and economic transformations in their lives behaviour and family structure in an attempt to pinpoint the negative and positive effects resulting form that transformation. To achieve the objective of this study, descriptive situation analysis and historical methodology research were used. The primary data was collected through questionnaires, personal interviews and observations. Apre-test field survey was conducted in 2001 followed by the main field survey in October 2004 to collect the needed information from displaced women in Suke Abuzaid using accidental sampling method. Chi-square and frequency distribution were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that the involvement of the displaced women in the marketing process helped in poverty alleviation, which led to a positive contribution on her side to avail personnel residence to her family. Sixty percent of the sampled women had their own houses in Al-Muhagreen village, Umbada Municipality (locality). The study also revealed that the health awareness was raised as evidenced by visiting health centers, attending clinics, keenness to vaccine their children, using of family planning and awareness of the importance of involvement in keeping the environment clean. The negative effects of the involvement of women in the marketing process are reflected in the continuous demand of the local authorities on money charges and the high levels of these claims. The behavior of the displaced women was also affected negatively by the behavior of their customers, which contradicts with the morals and values of the Sudanese Muslim Society. The study recommends that the working women shall be grouped in multipurpose cooperatives so that they will be economically and socially developed through availing permanent places in the markets. Also it is recommended that the productive family programs and cottage industry shall be encouraged. Collection, distribution and marketing centers shall also be established through the cooperatives with the positive help of the local authority, public police and women development centers. Finally, the study recommends that the Ministry of Social Planning (social care) shall undertake, in collaboration with Cooperative Training Center and the General Directorate of Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension, Khartoum State – Ministry of Agriculture, the design of training programes in areas of cooperatives account keeping, money saving and all other aspects associated with development, to raise the knowledge, skills and efficiency of the women working in these cooperatives in the relevant areas of specialization.
