ترجمة الملخص: Due to the large number of infringement, violation of property rights and their negative impact on the development of societies, it was necessary to find a way to keep the ownership rights of digital images on the internet.The study presents the theory of the watermark and the main associated factors, such as (transparency, robustness) and then a comparative study between the two areas could be adopted in the processes of embedding and retrieving the watermark within the digital gray images. They are ‘spatial domain’ and ‘frequency domain.’ The LSB algorithm in the spatial domain has been relied on in this study. On the other hand, for the transition from the spatial domain to the frequency, it has relied on the converting the Discrete Cosine Transform and Discrete Wavelet Transform The comparative study includes the transparency and the robustness after exposure to attacks such as (JPEG compression, Salt and Pepper attack, the attack Median Filter, the attack of Average Filter) and the complexity time for each of them, in order to choose the best ones to adopt in achieving the watermark requirements.with taking into consideration all the previous factors the Discrete Wavelet Transform the best algorithm to be adopted in the processes of embedding and retrieving the watermark.
