Exploring Teachers’ Attitudes Towards their Use of Information and Communication Technology in Teaching English: The Case of Teachers of English in Secondary Schools

الملخص

The present study aims at exploring teachers’ atittudes towards the use of Information andCommunication Technology (ICT) in teaching English in secondary schools in Jijel. Toachieve that aim, teachers’questionnaire was used. The teachers’ questionnaire aimed atfinding out teachers’ atittudes towards the use of ICT in the teaching English language insideclassrooms. This research paper is based on the assumption that teachers’ atittudes haveimpact on ICT integration in secondary schools. A sample composed of twenty seven teachersfrom different secondary schools in Jijel was used. The findings showed that if teachers holdpositive atittudes towards the use of ICT in teaching English in secondary schools, they willsucceed in using it. Based on the findings of this research, some pedagogicalrecommendations are suggested to facilitate the integration of ICT in secondary schools.
