In this work we investigated the ecotoxicological tests using two species of mussels (Perna perna and Mytilus galloprovincialis) as bio-indicators of pollutionbythe quantification of the activity catalase which represents the defense biomarker of oxidative stress and protease which reflects the achievement of digestive enzymes.To do so, the assessment of the effects of organic pollution of marine waters, the response of catalase (CAT), protein content and protease activity was determined using a series of acute contamination and decontamination for 04/09 days under the effect of phenol and two dyes (malachite green oxalate and congo red). An increase in CAT and a decrease in protease activity was recorded during the infection cycle.The decontamination passage yielded comparable levels between control and decontaminated individuals.
