This study aims at investigating the effect of a proposed program on the development of some skills of Arabic calligraphy among fourth primary graders through answering the following questions:What is the proposed program to develop Arabic calligraphy among fourth primary graders?What is the effect of the proposed program to develop Arabic calligraphy among fourth primary graders?The researcher has proposed three hypotheses to show the effect of the proposed program to develop Arabic calligraphy among fourth primary graders:1.There is no statistically approved difference on the level 0.05 among the average of the scores of the experimental group in the pretest and posttest.2.There is no statistically approved difference on the level 0.05 among the average of the scores of the control group in the pretest and posttest.3.There is no statistically approved difference on the level0.05 among the average of the scores of the experimental and control group in the pretest and posttest.To answer the two questions of the study, the researcher has designed a list of the skills of Arabic calligraphy consisted of 35 skill and forward it to experts to choose the appropriate skills for fourth primary graders. It is mention worthy that Arabic calligraphy "Ruq'a" which suits fourth primary graders consists of 10 skills. After the skills are been practicable, the researcher has applied it on 20 pupils in the fourth primary grade from Ahmed Urabi Primary School in Al Muqdadiya District, Diyala Province. The results are calculated by assessing the frequency of each skill, then the rate weight equation is used to build an educational program to develop some skills in Arabic calligraphy "Ruq'a" To achieve the aims of this study, the researcher has adopted the experimental design (experimental group and control group) with pretest and posttest. A 30 item multiple choice test was designed. The researcher chose a sample of 50 pupils as 25 pupils for experimental group and 25 pupils for control group from the fourth primary grade in Al Ghafiqi Primary School for Boys in Al Muqdadiya District. Before starting the experiment, the researcher was punctualabout statistically equalizing the two groups of the study in some of the variables that might affect the results. Consequently, the researcher equalized the two study groups in the following variables:A.Their score in Arabic language in the previous academic year 2012-2013.B.Their age in months.C.Their fathers' academic qualification.D.Their mothers' academic qualifications.The researches has personally taught the pupils of the two groups the ten chosen skills. He taught the experimental group using his designed program. While the control group is been taught the same teen skills of Arabic calligraphy "Ruq'a" using the traditional method used in the educational system. Before starting the experiment, the researcher conducted a pretest for both groups in theskills of Arabic calligraphy. He reached the following results:There is a statistically approved difference in the level 0.05 between the average of the scores of experimental group in favor of posttest. There is no statistically approved difference in the level 0.05 between the average of the scores of control group in both pretest and posttest.There is a statistically approved difference in the level 0.05 between the average of the scores of the two study groups in favor of experimental group in posttest.In the light of the study results, certain conclusions were reached at like the importance of general objectives, specific objectives and behavioral objectives in designing educational programs.The researcher has recommended the approval of this program to develop the skills of Arabic calligraphy "Ruq'a" in teaching Arabic language for its effect on pupils' education. As an extension to this study, the researcher has recommended conducting the same study no other grades and other educational levels or taking other variables in consideration.
