The problem of the research: The problem of the research can be summarized is the following question: Is there a relationship between Psychological conflict and self-talk among a sample of secondary school students in Damascus? Research questions: what are the levels of psychological conflict among the research sample? Research hypotheses:1)There is no statistically significant relationship between psychological conflict and self-talk among members of the research sample.2)There are no statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of the psychological conflict according to the variable of sex (male-female).3)There are no statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of the psychological conflict according to the variable of the academic specialization (scientific-literary). 4)There are no statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of the psychological conflict according to the variable of the specialization (years of study). 5)There are no statistically significant differences between average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of self-talk according to the variable of sex (male-female). 6)There are no statistically significant differences between average degree of members of the research sample on the scale of the self-talk according to the variable of the academic specialization (scientific-literary).7)There are no statistically significant differences between average degree of members of the research sample on the scale of the self-talk according to the variable of the specialization (years of study). 8)There are no statistically significant differences between average degree of members of the research sample on the high scores and the low scores psychological conflict in self-talk.9)There is no effect of interaction between psychological conflict and self-talk according to the variables of sex (male-female),academic specialization (scientific-literary), specialization (years of study)in the members of the research sample .Search limits:-Human Limit: The research sample was withdrawn from students in the first, second and third secondary grades in Damascus Governorate (male and female), students of the scientific branch and students of the literary branch aged 15-18 with an average age of (16.25) and a standard deviation (1.13).-Place limits: Research tools were applied to a sample of secondary school students in Damascus Governorate.-Time Limits: Research tools were applied during the first semester of the academic year (2017-2018).Search original community: The primary research community consists of all secondary, secondary and tertiary students, according to the statistics of the Directorate of Education in Damascus Governorate (31698) students in the official public secondary schools in Damascus Governorate for the academic year 2017-2018.The research sample :The research sample consisted of (1585) students in secondary schools in Damascus, representing 5%of the population, it was selected randomly. It was arranged scores of students descending on the psychological scale of the conflict and took the proportion (25%) of the sample with the highest scores on psychological conflict scale to become the sample (396).Research results:1) The psychological conflict scale prepared by Al zou’abi (2014).2)The self-talk scale prepared by Araki & et.al (2006).The research concluded the following results:1)The level of psychological conflict among the research sample is moderate2)There is a positive correlation, which is statistically significant between the psychological conflict and self-talk among the members of the research sample. 3) There are statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of the psychological conflict according to the variable of the sex (male-female) in favor of females.4)There are no statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of the psychological conflict according to the variable of the academic specialization (scientific-literary). 5) There are statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of the psychological conflict according the variable of the specialization (years of study) in favor of First secondary students.6)There are statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of self-talk according to the variable of the sex (male-female) in favor of females.7)There are no statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of self-talk according to the variable of the academic specialization (scientific-literary).8) There are statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample on the scale of self-talk according the variable of the specialization (years of study) in favor of Third secondary students.9) There are statistically significant differences between the high scores and the low scores psychological conflict in talking with the self in favor of high scores.10) There is effect of interaction between psychological conflict and self-talk according to the variables of sex (male-female),academic specialization (scientific-literary), specialization (years of study)in the members of the research sample. Difficulties encountered by the researcher :The lack of research related to the variable of psychological conflict at the Arab level, where the difficulty in the search for previous studies (Arab and foreign), and new research at the Arab level with regard to the variable self-talk was difficult in the second (theoretical)The second chapter was translated from English to Arabic and the standard of modernity was translated into self, in addition to the difficulty in searching for a measure of talking with the self. In the third chapter (previous studies), Arabic or foreign to self-talk, Arab studies have never been obtained and foreign studies that are most suitable for research have been selected.
