This research work aims to study the enhancement of traditional architecture, as a source of inspiration for sustainable contemporary architecture through a bioclimatic approach that restores architecture in its environmental context.We have shown through the study of different examples that bioclimatic architecture is inspired by and reinterprets the founding elements of traditional architecture. The latter was not only a source of inspiration but also a stage in the understanding and design of contemporary bioclimatic architecture.Today with the growing demand for energy and raw materials, the use of ancestral principles and techniques seems essential, with natural materials of high thermal inertiain order to promote energy saving and minimize the harmful impacts on the environment. Our case study is focused on "the Kasbah of Dellys" example of sustainable architecture, integrated into the environment with an architectural design based on climatic data, built with local materials and traditional techniques, covering the energy needs and offering harmonious interior comfort, while preserving the environment.
