In recent years, we have witnessed a tremendous growth in the number of mobile phone users, which has led to a significant increase in the volume of data sent and received via cellular networks. To keep pace with this development, the focus is on developing technologies to move to the next generation of cellular networks known as “fifth generation” (5G).Thes techniques include offloading the network core, improving frequency and power usage, reducing latency and increasing overall throughput. Device-to-device communication technology plays an important role in developing next generation systems, as it represents direct communication between devices without the need for a base station. However, this technology faces several challenges. Including improved frequency utilization and power control to reduce interference and increase overall productivity. This reduces communication delay and extends the coverage range for cells in cellular networks. Despite its benefits, this type of connection can cause interference with other cellular communications. In this thesis, we propose to use a based genetic algorithm (GA) to reduce interference and increase spectrum utilization efficiency. The genetic algorithm is characterized by its ability to avoid a local peak and evolve towards a global peak by exploring multiple parts of the search space at the same time. Because cellular networks rely on device-to-device communication, they reduce the signal interference plus noise ratio (SINR) to ensure quality communication for cellular users.
