الملخص

This study aimed to assess the possible effect of natural environmental factors (dust and heat) on Columbia resin (CR39) plastics lenses. The measurements of lenses included: power of lenses (lensmeter), Curvature of lens surface (spherometer), transmission of light through lenses (UV visible spectrometer).A number of 29 lenses were exposed for three month to the natural factors. The results of this study showed the followings: no significant change found on lens power and curvature, but the transmission showed significant change of (5.99775) nm with p. value (0.0083), this might lead to a change in lens power due to effect on refractive index.
