Editorial policies are subject to a number of factors‌ those affects the attitude of the newspapers and the way they are presented to the news and information, these policies do not need to be declared, but are embraced through the professional performance of journalists, and Its stability or change is related to the events those occur politically, socially or economically. The study examined the factors influencing the editorial policies of the Libyan newspapers, Where the study mainly focusing on the paper's ideology and the demographic characteristics of the communicator (gender, age, educational level, economic level), prevailing political systems, community values, and funding of the newspapers, since all these factors affect the editorial policies of the study papers. The study belongs to the descriptive studies that aim to describe and analyze a specific phenomenon and not only to the extent of description, but it extends to the study of the current facts regarding the nature and characteristics of this phenomenon in order to obtain accurate and sufficient information that enables the researcher or student to know the facts he is looking for. The survey questionnaire was used to identify the views of the respondents on the editorial policies of the newspapers. The main features of these policies were the researcher's targeting of all the communicators in the study papers. The study also used interviews with the heads and editors of the study papers to benefit from their professional expertise in answering research questions. 159Due to the absence of newspapers covering all the requirements of the research study in Benghazi, a number of newspapers were used in the Eastern Region of Libya to reach accurate scientific results on which research studies could be based. The used newspapers are‌ including (Akhbar Ajdabiya newspaper, Akhbar al-Marg newspaper, Barqa newspaper, Akhbar al-Jabal newspaper, Al-Bayda News, Tobruk newspaper today) ,where the sample of the study consisted of all communicators in theses newspapers, and the number of operators of the communication process 77 journalists distributed in all the newspapers of study ,moreover this sample was selected according to the following criteria :1.1.The presence of communicators covered by the study period.2.Continued contacts in the pres.3.3.Newspapers are available during the study period. The study reached several results as follows:The absence of clear and established criteria for determining editorial policies in Libyan newspapersThe commitment of editorial policies to the rules and values of society in the exercise of journalism, despite the lack of information legislation required to do so .The private newspapers are more regular and continuous than the state newspapers for the independence of their sources of funding and publishing.The newspapers of the municipal councils ignore the publication of political news and current issues and deal with issues and topics within the municipality itself and the surrounding areas.The newspapers in Libya are working according to what is available and what is going on. Many of them go away from dealing with political issues and hot events, and only shed light on the issues and topics within the city from which they are issued.
