ترجمة الملخص

This research aims to determine the water quality of AL-Bassel Dam Lake by using Water quality indices, to achieve this aim, Physical, chemical and bacterial measurements in five locations of the lake (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5) were conducted periodically. The work continued to conduct tests for full hydrological cycle as of January(2016) until December (2016). The parameters measured are the following: Dissolved Oxygen (DO),Temperature water, PH-Value, Turbidity, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5),Total Suspended Solid (TSS),Fecal Coliform (F.C), NO3-,PO4-3. Results were represented diagrammatically and then the resulting values were compared with the allowable values the potable water according to the Syrian Specifications Standards no (45) (2007). It was found that the parameters that exceeded the limits allowed in the specification were: Turbidity and Fecal Coliform, But the rest of parameters stayed within the allowable limits to Syrian Specifically. In comparison with the allowable values of irrigation water according to the Syrian Specifications standards no (2752) (2008), only Fecal Coliform exceeded the allowable limits to Syrian Specifically, But the rest of parameters stayed within the allowable limits to Syrian Specifically .In accordance with the results that have been obtained, the lake has been classified according to the quality index (NSFWQI) and was at the grade (C) in the sampling sites (S1-S2-S3-S5) and the description was (Medium), and was at the grade(D) in the sampling site (S4) and the description was (Bad).It was also classed according to the quality index (NEWWQI) and the results came similar to the above, were to be classified in the sampling sites (S1-S2-S3-S5), were the type water was (low quality). It was classified in the sampling site (S4), were the type water was (bad quality).After having discussed the results, we reached to series of conclusions and recommendations for the protection of the lake in order to reach with it to environmentally acceptable quality levels, and ensure the maintenance of these levels in the long term.
