- The study aims to clearly explain the diplomatic immunity, which Islamapproves of and allows to ambassadors and envoys to Islamic state. The studyalso dwells on the hospitality and reception of Prophet Mohammad, peace beupon him, toward envoys. Such kind reception persuaded many to convert toIslam or succumb to Islamic rule. The motive for the study is to defend Islam and Muslims against theaccusations of murder and terrorism, including diplomatic terrorism. The study follows historical and analytical approach. It is assisted by modernas well as historic references that had previously discussed the issue ofdiplomatic terrorism. In Chapter One, the researcher defines the concept of terrorism and describedthe different types of terrorism. In Chapter Two, he describes the concept ofdiplomacy and its origin. In Chapter Three, he describes embassy andambassador from a linguistic point of view, the characteristics of diplomats inIslam, and to whom diplomats were sent when Prophet Mohammad, peace beupon him, led the Muslims. In Chapter Four, he describes diplomaticimmunity, which Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, bestowed upon thediplomatic missions and His practices concerning diplomatic immunityshowing its characteristics and purposes and compared the way the Prophet, peace be upon him, respected the diplomatic envoys that were sent to Himand the way His diplomatic envoys were terrorized or even killed. The conclusion includes the most important findings of the study such as:• Previous nations sanctified ambassadors and envoys.• Islam approves of immunity and respect of ambassadors and envoys;however, Islam adds principles that are consistent with the nature ofIslam as religion and mercy for all people of Earth.ز• Ambassador and envoys must be respected and protected in time ofpeace and conflict. They must not be terrorized and killed so that theycould perform their duties.• Good treatment and respect of ambassadors and envoys is revered byIslam as well as by humanitarian values.• Islam takes precedence, compared to other nations, in diplomacythough such nations show pride in the making of the international lawsand conventions. These nations’ diplomatic product is relatively recentsince it is the making of the 10th Century; whereas, Islam createddiplomacy 14 centuries ago.• Islam has organized and regulated relationships among nations. Islamwas not built on the remains of other civilizations. It did not inheritancient cultures. It is a new seed of life and unique way of life. The study contains a number of recommendations that the researcher wouldlike to pass on to people especially to Muslims who are involved indiplomacy and want to follow suit the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad, peacebe upon him.
