Blended fabrics Cotton\Lycra has spread in compare with other fabrics, because it has the properties of cotton as hygiene, absorbency and .... Also the elasticity of lycra which give the good fitting,stretch ability and the good shape even after wearing many times.Heat setting is an essential process for blended fabrics with lycra to achieve the needed properties of the fabric and prevent from creasing in dyeing machine.In this study the relation between heat setting parameters (time, temperature, and tension at setting) and fabric properties (gram per square meter, thickness, and forceat specified elongation) have been studied thoroughly. And the relation between each parameter and property has been revealed. After that the effect of wet processing on the fabric properties have been studied. Also whiteness of bleached fabric and dye diffrece between setted and non setted fabric have been studied to expose the effect of heat setting on all later processes that fabric may subjected to.The result showed that increasing the tension at setting, time and temperature decrease the g.s.m and thickness of the fabric but increase the force needed to en longe the fabric to %80 elongation. After wet processing all the values of g.s.m., thickness and force becomes less. And after each process the decrease becomes more and more. Increasing the tension at setting, time and temperature decreases the whitness index of the bleached fabric also also the colore difrece between setted and not setted fabric becomes bigger and pale shade colors are more sensitive to heat setting parameters than medium to
