ترجمة الملخص

This study examines the effectiveness of the *Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) in improving nonverbal communication skills* among children with autism. The research problem was formulated as follows:"Is the PECS program effective in enhancing nonverbal communication skills in children with autism?"The general hypothesis states:"The PECS program is effective in improving nonverbal communication skills in children with autism." To test this hypothesis, we selected a purposive sample of 10 children aged 10 to 14 years, all diagnosed with **severe autism**. A quasi-experimental design was adopted, using experimental and control groups with pre- and post-testing, a method deemed most suitable for this study.Before implementing the PECS program, we assessed autism severity using the .Through the analysis and discussion of the obtained results, the following findings were reached:1.The PECS program is effective in improving nonverbal communication skills in children with autism.2.There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group.3.The experimental group participants showed an improvement in performance after the application of the PECS program.Keywords: Autism, nonverbal communication, PECS program.
