Thesis Title: The Effectiveness of Behavior Modification Program to Reduce the Rate of Motor Tics in Children with Tourette syndrome. Study Setting: Mental Health and Psychological Counseling Department ñ Faculty of Education Ain Shams University.Tools of the study consisted of: Stanford Binet intelligence Scale-5th Edition (By / Safwat Farag, 2010), The Family`s Economic and social levels scale (By / Abd El Aziz El- shakhs 2006), Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (Leckman et al, 1989) (Translated into Arabic by/ the researcher), Behavior modification program to reduce the rate of motor tics (By/ the researcher). The study sample consisted of (12 children) of children with Tourette syndrome (9 Male, 3 Female), their ages between (9-12 years) considering the heterogeneity between members of the sample in terms of age, IQ, gender, economic and social levels. The study findings are as follow: (a) The program used in current study was effective for decreasing the rate of motor tics in children with Tourette syndrome in experimental group, (b) Results presented that the behavior modification program is continuously effective during follow up phase.
