A descriptive cross sectional study was carried out during the period from 21 of September 2017 to 24 June 2018. The aim of the study is to assess internet addiction and interpersonal relationships problems among senior undergraduate students at Babylon University.A non-probability (randomize) sample of one hundred and fifty senior students have been chosen equally from the selected colleges (25 student from morning program for each college).The data was collected by questionnaire which consisted of three parts, first part: consists socio demographic data and internet use which involving age, gender, name of the college, family income, marital status, area of residency, place of the internet use, number of hours of the internet use in day, number of days of the internet use in week, purpose of the internet use. Second part is about internet addiction which contains 20 items to assess the internet addiction levels among students.Third part: consists of the interpersonal relationships questionnaire that includes three domains relationship with family, relationship with friends, relationship with teachers and peers and each domain consists of10 items to assess the interpersonal relationships problems among students.Validity was achieved through a panel of 14 experts from different disciplines who specialized in related field, and reliability was secured Abstract through the application of alpha correlation coefficient ,which was statistically acceptable The finding of the study indicate that mild addicted (37.3%) ,moderate addicted (46.7%) and severe addicted users (16%).The results of the study indicate that the internet addiction was negatively correlated with interpersonal relationship. The studyhave reported no statistically significant relation between problematic internet use and socio-demographic characteristics of sample(age, gender, family income and residency).The study recommended to provide an educational programs for college students about an appropriate ways of using the internet, and proper time of using it and use the internet for study purposes, to increase awareness of students about the excessive and inappropriate using of internet may lead to Internet addiction.

أُجريت دراسة مقطعية وصفية خلال الفترة من 21 سبتمبر 2017 إلى 24 يناير 2018. هدفت الدراسة إلى تقييم الإدمان على الإنترنت ومعرفة العلاقة بينه وبين العلاقات الشخصية لطلبة المرحلة المتوسطة في جامعة بابل. تم اختيار عينة غير احتمالية (غرضية) من بين 150 طالبًا من الطلبة المتساويين في الكليات: 125 طالبًا من الدوام الصباحي. تم جمع العينة بواسطة استبيان يكون من ثلاثة أجزاء، الجزء الأول يحتوي على البيانات الاجتماعية واستخدام الإنترنت، ويشمل العمر، الجنس، اسم الكلية، الحالة الاقتصادية للأسرة، الحالة الاجتماعية، مكان الإقامة، مكان استخدام الإنترنت، عدد ساعات استخدام الإنترنت في اليوم، عدد أيام استخدام الإنترنت في الأسبوع، والغرض من استخدام الإنترنت. الجزء الثاني هو استبيان إدمان الإنترنت مكون من 20 فقرة لتقييم مستويات الإدمان على الإنترنت لدى طلاب المرحلة المتوسطة. الجزء الثالث يحتوي على استبيان العلاقات الشخصية، ويشمل ثلاثة مجالات: العلاقة مع العائلة، العلاقة مع الأصدقاء، والعلاقة مع المعلمين والأقران، كل مجال يتكون من 10 فقـرات لتقييم العلاقات الشخصية لدى طلبة المرحلة المتوسطة. تم تحقيق ثبات الاستبيان من خلال لجنة من 14 خبيرًا من مختلف التخصصات، وتم ضمان الموثوقية من خلال تطبيق معامل ارتباط ألفا، الذي كان مقبولاً. أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن الممثلين ذوي المستوى المنخفض (أ)، والممثلين ذوي المستوى المتوسط (64.7%)، والممثلين ذوي المستوى العالي (60%). أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن إدمان الإنترنت كان مرتبطًا ارتباطًا سلبيًا مع العلاقات الشخصية. ذكرت الدراسة عدم وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين إدمان الإنترنت والخصائص الاجتماعية والديموغرافية للعينة (العمر، الجنس، مستوى الدخل للأسرة، ومكان الإقامة).
