الملخص

Le cancer colorectal (CCR) occupe la troisième position dans le monde et atteint aussi bien les femmes que les hommes.Son incidence est en continuelle augmentation ces dernières années avec 1,93 millions de nouveaux cas recensés en 2020. En raison de sa forte incidence et sa gravité, le CCR devient un réel problème de santé publique. En Algérie, l’incidence de ce cancer demeure faible par rapport aux pays développés mais elle a connu une ascension fulgurante ces dernières années.Le CCR est une tumeur qui se développe à partir des cellules qui tapissent la paroi interne du côlon ou du rectum. Il s’agit d’une tumeur maligne qui provient d’une tumeur bénigne appelée polype adénomateux qui évolue lentement et finit par devenir cancéreuse. L’alimentation, le vieillissement ainsi que l’environnement constituent des facteurs fondamentaux dans le développement du CCR. Plusieurs traitements sont en cours de développement pour réduire le risque de décès par cancer colorectal et améliorer la survie globale, notamment la chirurgie qui reste le traitement de base ainsi que la chimiothérapie.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) occupies the third position in the world and affects both women and men. Its incidence has been steadily increasing in recent years with 1.93 million new cases recorded in 2020. Due to its high incidence and severity, CRC is becoming a real public health problem. In Algeria, the incidence of this cancer remains low compared to developed countries but it has experienced a meteoric rise in recent years. CRC is a tumor that develops from cells that line the inside lining of the colon or rectum. It is a malignant tumor that originates from a benign tumor called an adenomatous polyp that grows slowly and eventually becomes cancerous. Diet, aging and the environment are fundamental factors in the development of CRC. Several treatments are being developed to reduce the risk of death from colorectal cancer and improve overall survival, including surgery, which remains the basic treatment, and chemotherapy.
