- The observable parameters of a battery such as terminal voltage, current, and temperature couldn’t give an accurate idea about its state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH), that is why a large number of techniques and algorithms have been proposed to predict the internal parameters (internal resistances Rint, capacitance and/or open circuit voltage VOC) which are known as SOC and SOH indicators. In this thesis work, in order to identify the real available battery energy in on-line way, we tried different approaches and models; finally we adapted a new approach based-on an Adaptive Extended Kalman Filter (AEKF) with a dynamic model multi-Level. This approach is a solution to integrate the effects of the unknown evolution of certain battery parameters and noises as part of the model and the estimator. Also in this work, we interpret the evolution of the nominal battery capacity (Cn) as energy losses depending on current of battery; this interpretation is used to tune the available energy at each debited battery current profile. This idea is formulated by using a fuzzy-logic modelling approach. The proposed solutions (models and estimators) are tested and compared. The proposed approaches are validated using a developed test-bench designed specifically for this work. The Experimental results show the contributions of our work to estimate SOC accurately.
