Our study aimed to find out the extent to which electronic payment methods contributed to improving the performance of the Syrian banking system, by analyzing and diagnosing the reality of the use of electronic payment methods in highlighting the most important challenges that Syrian banks face under the current conditions of imposed sanctions and economic blockade, as we relied on the descriptive approach to present Concepts related to electronic payment methods, the analytical approach Through the primary data represented in statistics, numbers and reading the data that we obtained through a questionnaire addressed to employees and managers of Syrian banks, our study found that electronic banking transactions "electronic payment methods" provided a number of advantages to customers, and new opportunities for banks by achieving a competitive advantage and profitability, and widespread distribution And that is by creating new payment cards that are appropriate to the nature and requirements of electronic banking work, but despite the efforts made, the Syrian banks are still facing many obstacles that formed a stumbling block without achieving the hoped-for leap, and therefore it is necessary to benefit from the experience of some Arab and European countries in the field of applying the system Retail electronic payment And large sums, taking into account the privacy of the Syrian banking system in order to improve the performance of banks.
