An epidemiologic inquest concerning the prevalence of urinary incontinence for the moroccan woman has been achived for about 600 women in Marrakech aged 18 years and more, during the year 2006. The questionnaire used collected information about the patients, their antecedents medicals, urologics, gyneco-obstetrics, surgicals, presence of urinary disorders and the discomfort that they induce, consultation for this fact and the desire of consultation. Urinary incontinence was defined as involuntary urine leakage during the last month. Among the 600 women of our inquest, 154 said that they had suffered from an episode of urinary incontinence in the last month let 25.7 %, 51.8 % of these women were age 30 to 59 years, 28.5 % were less than 30 yars old, and 19.6 % were more than 60 years old. Among these 154 women : 41.6 % had stress urinary incontinence, 35.1 % had urge urinary incontinence, 13.6 % had spontaneous urinary leakage et 9.7 % had mixed urinary incontinence. A discomfort is felt in 83.1 %, but only 29.9 % had been consulted for this disorder, whereas 85.7 % were able to consulte and to have the clinicals or paraclinicals exams. The factors responsible for the urinary disorder genesis in our series were :advanced age, parity, menopause, use of forceps, perineal tearing, diabetes, chronic bronchitis, chronic constipation, recurrent urinary infections, hysterectomy and prolapsus cure. The frequency of urinary incontinence in women is variable according to the authors, just as the factors of risk of this discorder, also a small percentage of consultation is noted. In conclusion, urinary incontinence in women is a disorder responsible for the deterioration of quality of life and which requires a traitement and the information of doctors and patients.
