الملخص

The aim of the study is to investigate the Difficulties of Reading Comprehension Encountered by Khartoum locality Secondary Schools students, the researcher has assessed teachers views on the problem of reading comprehension texts regarding the strategies and the techniques used during teaching beside to that he investigates students’ performance in reading comprehension. The study was based on the survey carried out by questionnaires and a reading comprehension test that were distributed to various public secondary schools in the area of Khartoum locality. The participants of the study consisted of twenty English Language Teachers who have taught the reading comprehension in Sudanese Secondary Schools and twenty students of the third year secondary schools. The data has been analyzed by using the simple Microsoft Excel program in order to organize and keep a record of all the gathered data and then the data were presented in the form of percentage tabulation which then arranged in the form of tables and figures. The data has obtained the necessary information that addresses the objectives of the research. After testing the hypothesis and relating the analyzed data to the research objectives, the researcher found that reading silently can improve student’s proficiency in reading comprehension texts used variant reading techniques in reading comprehension. Finally, conclusions have been drowning implications stated and suggestions have been offered.

ترجمة الملخص

هذه الدراسة تهدف الى معرفة صعوبات مهارات القراءه التي تواجه طلاب المدارس الثانوية فى محلية الخرطوم , يقوم الباحث من خلال هذه الدراسة بمعرفة وجهة نظر المعلمين عن الوسائل والطرق المستخدمة في تدريس مهارات القراءة وايضا تقييم أداء الطلاب في مهارات القراءة. لدعم أسئلة و أهمية البحث قام الباحث بأجراء أستبيان بغرض الحصول على معلومات من معلمي اللغة الانجليزية و عددهم عشرون معلما يعملون على تدريس اللغة الانجليزية في المدارس الثانوية بمحلية الخرطوم وايضا قام باختبار عدد عشرين طالبا في مهارات القراءة المختلفة. قام الباحث بأستخدام برنامج اكسل من أجل تسجيل البيانات في صورة نسبة مئوية ومن ثم عرضها على شكل جداول ومخططات بيانية فلوحظ ان جميع المعلومات الموجدة تخدم أهداف البحث. بعد أختبار جميع الفرضيات ومقارنتها مع أهداف البحث لقد وجد الباحث أن القراءة بصمت تساعد على تنمية قدرات الطلاب لفهم النصوص في أزمان قياسية, كما ان أستخدام جميع طرق و وسا ئل القراءة الصا متة في تدريس اللغة الانجليزية يعمل على رفع مستوى الطلاب في فهم النصوص وان عدم اعطاء فرص متساوية لطرق ووسائل القراءة الصامتة قد يؤدي الى تنمية بعض مهارات القراءة على حساب المهارات الاخرى.
