ترجمة الملخص

This study holds a comparison between poetry of asceticism of Abee el-Atahiyah and that of Abee Ishaq Al-Elbeeri. Using the analytical method, the study was divided into three chapters. Chapter one dwelt on both general and personal motivations for the writing of poetry of asceticism by Abee el-Atahiyah and Abee Ishaq Al-Elbeeri. The general motivations for the composition of poetry of asceticism by Abee elAtahiyah were social and political lives. On the other hand, the personal motivations were fear, lowliness, instinct of defense and adaptation, avarice, and carefulness vis a vis his asceticism, community of masses, kinship, stronghold, grievances, smell of death and its psychological traits as well as his natural readiness. Pertaining to Abee Ishaq Al-Elbeeri, the general motivations for his poetry of asceticism included political and social conditions while his personal motivations were his work in litigation and the influence of oriental poets on him.Chapter two tackled the themes dealt with in poetry of asceticism by the two poets in question. These themes included death, life in this world preaching and advising, derogation of kings, lives, consequences of death, wise sayings and proverbs and grayness of the hair and sarcasm of the old man who pretends to be young.Chapter three highlighted the artic qualities of poetry of asceticism of both Abee el-Atahiyah and Abee Ishaq Al-Elbeeri in terms of language (form) literary image and music. More specifically, the researcher looked at the closeness of meaning, ease of pronunciation, influence of Islamic ideas, predicate sentences, poetry popularity, juxtaposition (antithesis) and synonyms. He also dealt with types of comparison: allegorical, individual, and implied.This is in addition to figurative speech including metaphors, similes, and metonymy. Regarding music, the researcher focused on form of the poem as well as its style, assonance (puns), repetition, frankness, recycling, poetic measure and rhyme scheme
